KPERS

Kansas Public Employees Retirement System

Employees working in KPERS covered positions (regularly scheduled to work 630 hours or more) are eligible for membership in the State retirement plan known as KPERS (Kansas Public Employees Retirement System).  For all eligible employees, KPERS membership is automatic when you’re hired, and membership starts on your first day. When the time comes, KPERS pays out retirement benefits.

If you’re nearing retirement:

Be sure to plan ahead. Visit the KPERS Retirement Info Center. Review the KPERS Pre-Retirement Planning Guide, including a KPERS Retirement Checklist.
